This is an English translation of the Czech terms and conditions (Obchodní podmínky). In the event of any discrepancy between the two versions, the Czech version prevails.
1. Introductory provisions
1.1 These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern the provision of legal services by Mgr. Jiří Helán, attorney-at-law registered in the list of attorneys kept by the Czech Bar Association under reg. no. 13003, with registered office at Belgická 2571/22a, 120 00 Prague 2, Company ID (IČ) 71347321, e-mail helan@bricks.legal, phone +420 775 298 185 (the “Attorney”), who operates under the name Bricks, to clients who order or request services via the website www.bricks.legal (the “Client”).
1.2 The Attorney offers in particular a reservation agreement review, a full purchase review, a full sale service with escrow, attorney escrow and attendance at signing. The description and price of each service are given on the website.
1.3 The Attorney provides services in accordance with Act No. 85/1996 Coll., on the Legal Profession, and the professional regulations of the Czech Bar Association.
2. Conclusion of the contract
2.1 The Client orders a reservation agreement review by completing the order form, uploading the documents and submitting the order with the button “Order with obligation to pay” (in the Czech version “Objednat s povinností platby”). The contract is concluded when the Attorney confirms receipt of the order to the Client by e-mail.
2.2 The Client requests other services by a non-binding enquiry. The Attorney sends the Client an offer stating the scope, price and deadline; the contract is concluded when the Client accepts the offer.
2.3 The Attorney may refuse an order or an enquiry, in particular if a legal obstacle prevents the provision of the service, such as a conflict of interest, or if the obligations under Act No. 253/2008 Coll. (the Anti-Money Laundering Act) cannot be fulfilled.
2.4 Attorney escrow is always agreed in a separate escrow agreement. An escrow agreement for up to CZK 10,000,000 can be signed online via Bank iD. For higher amounts, or if the Client does not have Bank iD, it is signed in person; the Attorney’s personal attendance at signing anywhere in the Czech Republic is charged at CZK 4,990.
3. Price and payment
3.1 The prices stated on the website are final; the Attorney is not registered for VAT. The prices do not include administrative fees (e.g. CZK 1,600 for the application for registration in the Land Registry) or the costs of Land Registry extracts and copies from the Collection of Deeds.
3.2 The Client pays for the reservation agreement review in advance on the basis of an advance invoice sent by e-mail, by bank transfer to the account stated on the invoice. Payment terms for other services are set out in the offer.
3.3 If, after the reservation agreement review, the Client continues with the full purchase review, CZK 5,999 is deducted from its price.
3.4 The Attorney does not charge for a short question by phone. A longer consultation is charged at CZK 3,500 per hour; if the Client continues with a follow-up engagement, the price of the consultation is deducted.
4. Deadlines
4.1 The Attorney sends the reservation agreement review to the Client by e-mail within 72 hours, or within 24 hours for the priority option, of the payment being credited to the account; Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays do not count towards the priority deadline.
4.2 For other services, the deadline of 72 hours, or 24 hours for the priority service, runs from the delivery of complete documents, unless agreed otherwise in the offer. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays do not count towards the priority deadline.
5. Withdrawal from the contract
5.1 A Client who is a consumer may withdraw from a contract concluded at a distance without giving any reason within 14 days of its conclusion.
5.2 If the Client expressly requests that the Attorney start providing the service before the withdrawal period expires and then withdraws from the contract, the Client shall pay a proportionate part of the price for the service provided up to the moment of withdrawal (Section 1834 of the Civil Code).
5.3 If the service has been provided in full before the withdrawal period expires, with the Client’s prior express consent, and the Client has acknowledged that they thereby lose the right of withdrawal, the right of withdrawal lapses (Section 1837(a) of the Civil Code).
5.4 Withdrawal can be notified by e-mail to helan@bricks.legal or by letter to the Attorney’s registered office, for example using the model form below. The Attorney will refund the money received, reduced by the amount under clause 5.2, within 14 days of the withdrawal, in the same way in which it was received.
6. Confidentiality and documents
6.1 The Attorney maintains confidentiality about all facts learned in connection with the provision of legal services (Section 21 of the Legal Profession Act).
6.2 Documents uploaded via the website are kept in secure storage in the European Union, and only the Attorney has access to them. The Client is responsible for being entitled to hand over the documents.
7. Liability
7.1 The Attorney is liable for the proper provision of legal services in accordance with the law and is insured against liability for damage.
7.2 The Attorney’s liability for any harm is not limited in any way.
8. Governing law and dispute resolution
8.1 These Terms and the contracts between the Attorney and the Client are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic.
8.2 The body for the out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes is the Czech Bar Association, Národní 16, 110 00 Prague 1, www.cak.cz.
8.3 Complaints are handled by the Attorney at helan@bricks.legal. The practice of law is supervised by the Czech Bar Association.
9. Effectiveness
9.1 These Terms take effect on 30 October 2026 and replace the terms published at www.rezervacnismlouva.cz.
9.2 The Attorney may amend the Terms. A concluded contract is governed by the version in effect on the day it was concluded.
9.3 These Terms are an English translation of the Czech terms and conditions (Obchodní podmínky). In the event of any discrepancy, the Czech version prevails.
